Job Description

The Cardiac Sonographer will independently perform imaging procedures, including Transthoracic Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, Stress Echocardiography, and Echo with contrast, following the guidelines established by the Medical Director. This position requires utilizing appropriate ultrasound instrumentation and demonstrating knowledge of equipment operations and scanning techniques to optimize image data and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures per departmental protocols and guidelines.
• Obtain various echocardiographic images according to established industry standards.
• Assist physicians with invasive procedures while adhering to universal protocol standards.
• Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures and alleviate their concerns.
• Ensure all exams are properly coded and identified for electronic processing and storage.
• Document patient history and assess physician orders to achieve optimal results.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of formal training in an accredited ultrasound program or professional equivalent required.
• 2 years of experience is required.
• Licenses and Certifications: Registered Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS); Basic Life Support (BLS).
