Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). Potential for schedule flips every 4 weeks depending on facility needs.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care in a high-risk labor and delivery unit. The nurse will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, delivering care to both obstetrical and antepartum patients.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with high-risk deliveries and ensuring maternal and fetal safety.
• Performing assessments and interventions as needed based on patient care protocols.
• Providing postoperative care and education for new mothers and their families.
• Administering medications and therapies in accordance with care plans.
• Conducting nursing triage for obstetrical patients and assessing the need for interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• At least 2 years of experience in labor and delivery nursing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced certifications.
• Active Alaska RN license or a pending license with the requirement to secure the license within 48 hours of signing.
• Charge experience is preferred but willing to train as charge.
