Registered Nurse (RN) - Stepdown/Progressive Care

This is a night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Stepdown/Progressive Care to provide high-quality patient monitoring and care. The RN will utilize advanced monitoring equipment, perform regular assessments, administer medications, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Utilize advanced monitoring equipment to track vital signs, telemetry, and critical metrics.
• Perform regular assessments, recognize subtle changes in patient conditions, and initiate necessary interventions or life-saving measures.
• Administer complex medications, IV therapies, and titrate drips as ordered.
• Care for patients recovering from surgery, cardiac events, or those with complex conditions (such as ventilated patients or stroke patients requiring neuro checks).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists) to develop and implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families on diseases, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation of nursing care and patient responses.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in Stepdown/Progressive Care.
• Telemetry monitoring experience is required.
• Prior experience with Cerner documentation is required.
• BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA) certifications are mandatory.
• Valid RN license in the state of Michigan is required.
