Registered Nurse - Medical/Surgical and Telemetry

Nights, 12-hour shifts, guaranteed 36 hours per week with a requirement to float units.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in a Medical/Surgical and Telemetry setting, focusing on comprehensive assessments, medication administration, care coordination, and patient education. This role requires swift and effective emergency response to ensure patient safety and care continuity.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and monitor condition trends throughout the hospital stay.
• Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications, including IVs, and manage wound care or specialized equipment.
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Instruct patients and families on post-surgery care, medication schedules, and post-discharge instructions.
• Recognize early signs of medical deterioration and take swift action to stabilize patients before emergencies occur.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical/Surgical and Telemetry nursing.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• Valid RN license in the state of Michigan.
