LPN - Medical Surgical

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Shift hours are 7 PM to 7 AM, working every other weekend. Must be available to work every other holiday if needed.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled LPN for a medical surgical unit that involves complex care for medical patients, orthopedic overflow, and long-term patients. The candidate must have the ability to manage their own patient assignment with the support of an RN and will be responsible for administering care and performing clinical tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Patient assignment management with RN support.
• Perform common nursing tasks including blood product administration and IV management.
• Administer oxygen and manage trach care, feeding tubes, and heparin protocols.
• Conduct telemetry monitoring and utilize rapid response/code teams.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and conduct wound care/wound vac management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York Single State LPN license required (NY is not Compact).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Must have acute care experience within the last two years.
• Epic charting experience is mandatory.
• Ability to float within skillset is required.
