Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (MS/Onc) - Night Shift

Night shift, 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15).

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse for our MS/Onc unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both medical-surgical nursing and oncology care. The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, managing medications, and assisting with various medical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients with general medical-surgical diagnoses and oncology history.
• Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy as needed, ensuring patient safety and compliance.
• Manage and monitor IV access, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care.
• Perform wound care and management of surgical drains and chest tubes.
• Maintain accurate and thorough patient documentation using electronic health record systems.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning.
• Float to similar units as needed, including inpatient holding in the ED.
• Adhere to safety protocols and isolation precautions related to patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in an inpatient medical-surgical setting.
• Oncology certification preferred; must be able to administer chemotherapy.
• Current RN license valid in state or compact license.
• BLS certification required; CPI certification preferred.
