Full-Time, Night Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:00 PM
Job Description
The Registered Nurse (RN) is a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned unit. The RN ensures that quality care is delivered efficiently and safely, consistent with the unit's standards of care. This role demands demonstration of quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice, while treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and record initial assessments, establishing priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
- Reassess patient systems systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
- Develop and implement measurable individualized plans of care within the established timeframe.
- Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on the interpretation of facts and evaluations of patient outcomes.
- Participate in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
- Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Evaluate and modify the plan of care based on patient outcomes.
- Perform various Point of Care testing procedures as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
- Current New Mexico RN license or current Compact state license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Post cardiac catheterization experience and familiarity with high-risk medication management (e.g., Cardizem, Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Insulin, Ketamine, Lidocaine drips).
- Experience with respiratory patients on Non-Invasive Positive Pressure Ventilation (NIPPV) such as BiPAP or AirVo.
