Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) will be part of the Float Pool responsible for providing patient care to individuals with Med/Surg, PCU, and ICU needs. The expected nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, and the ratio will not exceed 3:1 on any unit. IMCU nurses will float between IMCU and step-down units; floating to Med/Surg units is not permitted.

Responsibilities

• Assess, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients under the direction of a licensed physician.
• Utilize the nursing process to collaborate with patients, their families, and healthcare team members.
• Direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care according to nursing standards and departmental policies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in a clinical specialty area.
• PA or MSL Compact - Registered Nurse License required.
• Basic Life Support certification required; additional certifications may be needed based on the area of expertise.
