Pediatric Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Schedule

D/E/N rotating shift schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call, callback, and charge per unit needs. 48 hours/week strongly preferred.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Job Description

The Pediatric Emergency Department (Peds ED) provides family-centered care for patients under the age of 19 facing urgent and emergent issues at a Level 1 pediatric trauma and burn center. The unit features 18 general care beds, 1 critical care bed, 4 urgent care beds, and a 7-bed trauma bay shared with the adult ED. Our staff is trained to function in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing everything from treat and release cases to acute critical care and trauma.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include providing high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in emergency situations, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and effectively navigating acute and critical care scenarios.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of pediatric emergency department experience required.
• Burn care experience highly desirable.
• New York RN license required.
• BLS, PALS, ACLS from AHA required.
• NIHSS certification required; TNCC, ATCN, or ABLS preferred.
