Registered Nurse - Nights - Step Down Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend coverage is required every other weekend, subject to change based on needs.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Step Down Unit. The ideal candidate will care for patients with higher oxygen demands, dialysis needs, a-fib, and those post-heart catheterization. Candidates will be floating to similar units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients stepping down from ICU.
• Handle patient diagnoses requiring telemetry monitoring.
• Administer approved drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and initiate Sotolol.
• Monitor and manage patients requiring BiPAP/CPAP and blood product administration.
• Perform assessments and evaluations necessary to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license in Tennessee.
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar unit or with related patient populations.
• 1 year of EPIC EMR experience is required.
