Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN)

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), with some weekend coverage required.

Job Description

The Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) will provide specialized care in high-risk labor and delivery settings. This position will involve floating between units as needed and managing critical situations in maternal and newborn health.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess laboring patients, including those with high-risk conditions.
• Assist with deliveries, including managing C-sections and recovering post-operative patients.
• Administer medications and therapies including magnesium sulfate and insulin drips.
• Provide triage and support for antepartum and postpartum care.
• Implement appropriate interventions for maternal emergencies.
• Educate patients and families regarding labor and delivery processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Washington or Compact RN license.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor & Delivery.
• Experience with charting systems, preferably Epic.
