Registered Nurse - Surgical (RPN III)

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Travelers will be assigned three 12-hour shifts per week. Must be available to float to other units as needed.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will work in a 34-bed adult surgical unit, providing comprehensive preoperative and postoperative care. The role requires proficiency in standard RPN III duties and the ability to manage various surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre and postoperative care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and manage IV and PCA pumps.
• Utilize WOWS/EMR for charting and patient records.
• Manage patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 RN to 5-6 patients.
• Participate in patient education and support.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Hawaii RN license required by the start of the assignment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in surgical pre/postoperative nursing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
