This position requires rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and callback as per unit needs.

Job Description

The Level 1 RN Psych in Unit 3900 is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with mental health disorders. The role involves conducting assessments, planning treatment, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.
• Plan and provide nursing care for patients, making nursing diagnoses of medical and emotional status.
• Recommend treatment options and design appropriate treatment plans in consultation with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff.
• Administer medications, including psychotropic drugs, and monitor patients for reactions.
• Assist clients in understanding emotional disturbances and accepting treatment needs.
• Maintain a safe environment for staff and patients while ensuring patient confidentiality.
• Document all patient information and follow physician's written orders accurately.
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, answering phones, and completing progress notes in the computer system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License (NY License ONLY)
• BLS Certification (AHA ONLY)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role required.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
