Registered Nurse - Med Surg

Schedule

This is a 4x12-hour day shift position, from 06:30 to 19:00, with options for 36 or 48 hours per week. Any hours over 48 are considered overtime.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Med-Surg unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and maintain efficient patient flow through the unit. This position involves working in a fast-paced environment with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:6.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, collaborating with healthcare teams to implement care plans.
• Utilize Epic charting for patient documentation and tracking.
• Coordinate with rapid response teams for emergencies as needed.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families.
• Participate in patient care audits and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med-Surg experience required.
• BLS and NIHSS certifications are required.
• CPI certification preferred.
• Ability to start and maintain IVs, administer blood products, and manage surgical drains.
• Experience with wound care, colostomy care, and feeding tubes is essential.
