Registered Nurse - MedSurg Stepdown

This position requires 12-hour night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the MedSurg Stepdown unit provides critical care to patients transitioning from intensive care while also attending to the needs of general MedSurg patients. This role involves constant monitoring, patient education, and coordination of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team. The nurse will be responsible for managing drips, interpreting telemetry, and ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout their hospital stay.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a MedSurg Stepdown setting.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient's progress, adjusting care as necessary.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including titration of drips.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to create and modify patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on treatments and recovery processes.
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license in the state of practice.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience in MedSurg or Stepdown nursing preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips.
