This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Position is primarily 8 hour shifts, Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Hours may fluctuate slightly based on surgery case load, with potential starts as early as 6:00 AM. Includes on-call rotation, approximately 1 night per every 2 week pay period, and every 5th to 6th weekend. Holiday call rotation is also included.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support various surgical specialties including General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, OBGYN, Podiatry, Urology, and Dental. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment and assisting surgical teams before, during, and after procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing the operating room and ensuring all necessary equipment is sterilized and ready for surgery.
• Support surgical teams during procedures by passing instruments and anticipating the needs of the surgeons.
• Maintain a clean and organized surgical area.
• Follow all safety and surgical protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
• Surgical Technologist Certification is preferred.
• State of Iowa Mandatory Reporter training required.
• American Heart Association BLS certification required.
• Must reside within 30 minutes of the facility while on-call.
