Medical Surgical RN - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position with a night shift schedule of 4x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00).

Job Description

The Medical Surgical RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in various medical surgical settings. The nurse will demonstrate proficiency in the nursing process and ensure that quality care is delivered to patients across all age groups.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and document patient care in the electronic medical records (Epic).
• Administer medications and manage patient treatment plans including sepsis, respiratory failure, and post-operative care.
• Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.
• Float to other areas as needed, ensuring competencies are maintained.
• Provide care to patients with a variety of diagnoses, including but not limited to COPD, diabetes, and traumatic injuries.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Idaho.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS (within 12 months of hire).
• Experience with Epic charting system is required.
• Patient care experience involving a ratio of 1:6.
