Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant will provide high-quality therapeutic interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist. This role emphasizes patient and employee safety and adheres to all guidelines set forth within the organization.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist the Physical Therapist with therapeutic interventions including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, and balance exercises.
• Train patients in locomotion using various assistive devices.
• Monitor patient responses and intervene as necessary during treatments.
• Document patient progress and response to treatment, as well as educate patients and families.
• Maintain safety standards and cleanliness in the treatment area by following infection control guidelines.
• Consult with other healthcare disciplines regarding therapy administered and projected treatment goals.
• Participate in team conferences and quality improvement initiatives.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
• CPR Certification required.
• Active and applicable state licensure is required.
• Previous experience with the agency is highly desired.
