Job Description

The Echo Sonographer performs diagnostic echocardiograms on adults and pediatric patients, ensuring high-quality imaging while collaborating with healthcare teams. The role requires technical proficiency in cardiac exams and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac exams with technical proficiency.
• Coordinate scheduling and patient activities related to echocardiograms.
• Assist cardiologists by preparing and measuring M-modes during dictations.
• Respond to patient needs during examinations and report any condition changes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the examination rooms.
• Participate in departmental performance improvement activities.
• Share on-call responsibilities for emergency echo exams as needed.
• Keep current with advancements in the field of Echocardiography.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• High school diploma or equivalent; two years in an allied health education program preferred.
• A.R.D.M.S./CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required.
• State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License.
• BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association.
• Preferred: Two years of experience performing echocardiograms.
