Job Description

The OB Registered Nurse provides holistic, individualized care for patients in the OB unit, utilizing the nursing process. The role requires clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care under supervision, while adhering to nursing practice standards and promoting teamwork among healthcare personnel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive care across various patient stages including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-operative gynecological patients.
• Manage supplies and equipment efficiently within the unit.
• Collaborate with physicians and other hospital departments to ensure high-quality patient care.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to hospital policies regarding sexual harassment, advance directives, and ADA regulations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum one year of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate and STABLE certification required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills.
