Certified Obstetric Technician (COT) - Day Shift with Weekend Requirement

Days: 3x12-Hour shifts from 07:00 - 19:00, with every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Certified Obstetric Technician will play a critical role in supporting the labor and delivery unit, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff. The technician will work closely with the clinical team to assist in various obstetric procedures and maintain high standards of patient care and aseptic technique.

Responsibilities

• Assist in labor and delivery procedures, including Cesarean sections and hysterectomies.
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and infection control protocols.
• Document equipment and specimen handling accurately in the electronic health record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and rapid response teams.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in a labor and delivery unit.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) and National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTS) preferred.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system is preferred.
