Orthopedic Med/Surg RN - Night Shift

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, weekdays, and every other weekend.

Job Description

The Orthopedic Med/Surg RN will provide care for patients who have undergone bone and joint reconstructive surgery, joint replacement, orthopedic trauma surgery, or have experienced sports injuries. This unit also handles medical/surgical overflow and provides remote telemetry monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patients following orthopedic surgeries or injuries.
• Utilize telemetry for remote patient monitoring with an off-unit station staffed by technicians.
• Work collaboratively within a team nursing model.
• Administer medications and IV therapies including Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, and Amiodarone.
• Participate in the care planning and implementation of nursing interventions.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of experience in orthopedic or surgical nursing.
• BCLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred.
• WV or Compact RN license required; pending license accepted for submission.
• Telehealth and telemetry experience is necessary.
