Job Description

The Radiologic Technologist conducts and assists in the performance of radiologic examinations, providing patient care for adults, pediatrics, and neonates. They are responsible for the proper utilization of the Radiology Information System (RIS) in accordance with policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for radiologic examinations while ensuring patient comfort.
• Operate radiologic equipment and perform accurate imaging procedures following departmental protocols.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
• Monitor patients’ conditions and vital signs before, during, and after procedures.
• Provide appropriate care and support to patients and their families.
• Assist physicians during fluoroscopic and special examinations.
• Prepare and send images to radiologists via PACS.
• Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and troubleshoot any malfunctions.
• Teach and oversee student technologists.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Eligibility to become registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or currently attending an accredited Radiology program.
• Preferred: Two years of experience working in a radiology department.
• CPR certification required.
