Registered Nurse - Critical Care

This position requires a daytime schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse with expertise in critical care nursing, particularly in the recovery phase of post-cardiothoracic surgery. The ideal candidate will have experience managing high acuity patients with multiple comorbidities and be knowledgeable in using advanced medical equipment such as IMPELLA, Balloon Pump, Arctic Sun, TABLO XT/CRRT.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols while monitoring for side effects and effectiveness.
• Document patient histories, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Educate patients, family members, and caregivers to address learning needs and resources.
• Demonstrate leadership in clinical situations by making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing is preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred, though new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only).
• Active RN license in the state of Texas or compact state.
