This is a night shift position from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a 36-hour guarantee.

Job Description

The Cardiovascular Registered Nurse utilizes clinical judgment skills to diagnose and treat patient responses to actual or potential health conditions. As a critical member of the Cardiovascular Unit (CVU), you will care for over 4,000 cardiology patients annually, performing procedures including PTCA, stents, TAVR, MitraClip, and bi-ventricular pacemakers. The unit discharges approximately 300 open heart surgery patients (18-24 hours post-op) and specializes in caring for patients with congestive heart failure and electrophysiology studies. The CVU is recognized for its excellence and has achieved a Silver level Beacon Award and was named a Top 50 Heart Hospital in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Assessing and managing patient care in the Cardiovascular Unit.
• Providing post-operative care for open heart surgery patients.
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Participating in the care of patients undergoing various cardiovascular procedures.
• Collaborating with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1+ year of Stepdown experience (required).
• Proficiency in Cardiac care (required).
• Travel experience (required).
• Comfortable with EKG interpretation (required).
• Michigan RN license verification (required). Please provide LARA and Nursys details.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (required).
