Registered Nurse – Ophthalmology Operating Room

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) for our ophthalmology operating room team. This role involves providing patient care for individuals of all ages in both scrub and circulating capacities. Utilizing a multidisciplinary approach, you will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal patient outcomes during surgical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in the ophthalmology operating room.
• Act in both scrub and circulating roles during surgical procedures.
• Utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
• Effectively manage on-call responsibilities for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN License in New York State (required).
• Two (2) years of experience in an operating room setting, preferably within a level 1 trauma facility.
• Proficient in both scrub and circulating roles.
• Experience with cataracts, retina, glaucoma, cornea, and pediatrics.
• BLS Certification (American Heart Association required).
• ACLS Certification (preferred).

Schedule

This position is primarily full-time, 36 hours per week, typically scheduled Monday through Friday with additional on-call responsibilities.
