Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Description

The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for performing cardiopulmonary evaluations, respiratory care, life support, and education for patients, families, and the public. This position works with both inpatients and outpatients across all age groups, addressing deficiencies and abnormalities related to the cardiopulmonary system according to established protocols or physician prescriptions. The RRT will perform respiratory care duties in various hospital areas.

Responsibilities

• Conduct cardiopulmonary evaluations and develop treatment plans.
• Administer respiratory care and life support as per physician's orders.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory health and care procedures.
• Monitor patients' progress and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Work collaboratively with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the NBRC.
• Valid New York State License.
• Completion of an Associate's Degree in an Accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current certifications: NRP, BLS, PALS, and ACLS.
• Experience in Labor & Delivery or Neonatal Resuscitation is required.
• Critical Care proficiency is essential.

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift, covering 12 hours from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM.
