Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing exceptional care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning and ensuring safe delivery of care for patients in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in adherence to established protocols, ensuring the highest quality standards.
• Utilize critical thinking and scientific judgment to evaluate patient needs and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Perform patient assessments, administer medications, and maintain accurate medical records.
• Delegate patient care responsibilities according to the education and experience of available staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training programs.
• Float to other departments as necessary based on operational needs.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a nursing role, preferably in an Emergency Room setting.
• Active RN license required.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
• Charge Nurse experience is preferred.
