Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN will supervise Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and formulate individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient information and status updates for team conferences and documentation records.
• Participate actively in patient rehabilitation programs, focusing on education and quality outcomes.
• Initiate discharge planning upon admission and begin patient teaching in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel, delegating tasks as necessary.
• Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, following hospital safety protocols.
• Maintain effective communication with management about service needs, including supply and clinical training requirements.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience preferred, with one year of ICU experience highly desirable.
