CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) Position

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, working four 12-hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) will provide specialized care to patients recovering from heart surgery in a critical care environment. The nurse will work closely with the medical team to monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and assist in procedures as needed. This position requires strong clinical skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the CVICU, ensuring monitoring of vital signs and overall patient condition.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments promptly and accurately.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and post-operative recovery.
• Document all patient information accurately in the electronic medical record system.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active RN license valid in the state of practice.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in an Open Heart Recovery unit.
• Permanent address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility.
