Registered Nurse - Med/Surg and eICU

Day Shift: 3, 12 hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse position provides quality, professional nursing care to patients. The nurse will assess, plan, implement, document, and evaluate patient care for a group of patients in the department, with specific responsibility for Med/Surg and eICU patients.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process throughout the patient's hospitalization.
• Ensure that patient care is individualized to meet patients' unique needs.
• Develop and document patient plan of care based on assessment and medical diagnosis.
• Provide care independently with minimal supervision, responding to life-threatening situations.
• Communicate significant condition changes to the provider in a timely manner.
• Monitor and document patient condition using computerized documentation systems.
• Administer medications and provide IV therapy accurately.
• Initiate patient/family education plans according to individual needs.
• Collaborate with other health team members in planning and care delivery.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, demonstrating understanding of infection control procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two-year degree in nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Wisconsin Registered Nursing license required.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 1 month of hire.
• ACLS certification required or to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• PALS certification encouraged.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.
