Interventional Radiology Technologist

Assignment Duration

This is a contract position with a typical duration of 13 weeks.

Schedule

5x8hr Days; on call/callback/holiday per unit needs. Will include 5-7 call shifts over a 7-week time block, with 2-4 weekend call days.

Job Description

The Interventional Radiology Technologist will demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors, positioning, and consistently produce radiologic images of diagnostic quality. This role requires flexibility, team spirit, and a strong focus on patient rights and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Instruct and prepare patients for examinations and assist the Radiologist during procedures.
• Display operational competence of all equipment and report malfunctions to the manager or lead.
• Complete assigned procedures in a timely manner while assisting colleagues with room turnover and other tasks.
• Maintain medication security by ensuring only authorized personnel have access.
• Demonstrate competency in providing healthcare services to patients of all age groups.
• Participate in hospital performance improvement activities when warranted.
• Answer technical inquiries from physicians or hospital personnel while maintaining professional phone etiquette.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Two (2) years of experience in Radiologic Technology.
• New York State License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• VIR certification is preferred.
