This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, Monday).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide care on the 7 East Trauma & General Surgery inpatient unit, a high-impact, fast-paced environment that manages complex patient conditions. This involves collaboration with various medical disciplines and utilizing advanced nursing skills to address the needs of multi-trauma patients, including those requiring complex wound care and various forms of respiratory support.

Responsibilities

• Manage care for trauma and general surgery patients, including those undergoing bariatric procedures.
• Administer medications and titrate drips as necessary, ensuring adherence to protocols.
• Perform complex wound care and manage chest tubes and drains.
• Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes in status, utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for effective patient management and care planning.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have EPIC experience.
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma setting.
• Minimum of 1:6 patient ratio experience.
• BLS certification is required.
