Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies and procedures. The Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care for patients in the Emergency Department.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care in the Emergency Department while ensuring compliance with established clinical competencies and hospital policies.
• Utilize the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Demonstrate leadership by delegating patient care priorities based on the education and experience of available staff.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
• Charge Nurse experience is preferred (additional compensation available).
• Must be willing to float as necessary.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
