Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the Physical Therapist in delivering high-quality care and ensuring patient safety. This position emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols to enhance patient treatment outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Implement treatment goals and programs established by the Physical Therapist.
• Assist in performing therapeutic interventions, including posture training, strengthening exercises, endurance training, balance exercises, coordination exercises, and pain relief techniques.
• Train patients in mobility using assistive devices such as canes, crutches, walkers, and wheelchairs.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust treatments as necessary.
• Document patient progress and educate patients and their families on treatment protocols and good body mechanics.
• Maintain a clean treatment area and ensure proper use of equipment.
• Participate in team conferences to discuss patient care and treatment goals.
• Comply with all safety, infection control, and clinic guidelines.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited school.
• CAPTE Certification.
• 1+ years of outpatient clinical experience.
• Current CPR Certification.
• Active and applicable license for the state where the work will be performed.

Schedule

This is a 5-day work week position based on a standard 8-hour shift.
