Registered Nurse (RN) - CVICU & PICU ECMO Specialist

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:30). Weekend coverage required every other weekend, subject to change based on need.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with both Pediatric and Adult ECMO specialist experience to provide critical care in the CVICU and PICU. This role involves managing ECMO devices during bedside procedures and ensuring high-quality patient care for those requiring ECMO support post cardiac surgery, cardiogenic shock, traumatic injury, and respiratory failure.

Responsibilities

• Manage ECMO devices and support during bedside ECMO cannulation and cannula repositioning procedures.
• Collaborate with nursing and respiratory therapy teams to optimize patient outcomes.
• Administer care to patients requiring advanced respiratory and cardiac support.
• Follow ECMO order sets and provider team directives for critical care patients.
• Monitor and manage ventilator settings, arterial lines, and blood product administration.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 3 years of ICU experience in both Pediatric and Adult settings.
• Current licenses and certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, SC RRT.
• Demonstrated experience with ECMO specialties and required continuing education for proficiency.
• At least 1-year EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience is required.
