Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift 3x12 Contract

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring that the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while promoting a safe environment for both patients and employees. This role requires a focus on patient safety, effective teamwork, and resourcefulness in overcoming obstacles in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely.
• Lead patient rehabilitation programs, prioritizing patient education based on needs identified.
• Initiate discharge planning on admission and commence patient teaching early.
• Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating changes in patient status among care providers.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel using effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Participate in creating a positive and efficient work environment through team-building activities.
• Maintain communication regarding service needs related to supplies and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as needed while ensuring safe practices in accordance with hospital policies.
• Actively pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS required prior to first shift.
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience post-graduation.
• Stepdown, ICU, or LTAC experience preferred.

Schedule

This position involves a day shift schedule of 3x12 hours per week.
