Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) - Travel Position

Job Description

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will assist in a variety of surgical procedures and will be responsible for maintaining a sterile environment, passing instruments to surgeons, and ensuring all surgical supplies are accounted for during the procedure. The CST will work within a dynamic team in a fast-paced operating room setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgical teams during procedures by providing instruments and supplies.
• Maintain a sterile field at all times, following hospital protocols.
• Prepare the operating room and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are available.
• Participate in pre-operative and post-operative care discussions with the surgical team.
• Adhere to patient safety standards and protocols during all phases of surgical procedures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital CST experience.
• Active NBSTA and DORA Certifications are required.

Preferred Skills

• Transplant experience is highly preferred.
• Spine experience is valued.
• Prior experience with Meditech EMR is a plus.

Unit Information

• Operating Room - 16 beds
• Types of procedures: Total joints, spine surgeries, transplants (kidney/liver), robotics, vascular, ENT, and plastics.
• On-call is required on weekends with a 30-minute response time.
