Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is adhered to. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees while delivering superior quality care and maintaining safety for patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized plans of care.
• Identify patient and family education needs related to diagnoses and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participate in the patient rehabilitation program and provide direct patient care through the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively to all care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and train ancillary nursing personnel and assist with complex clinical decision-making.
• Ensure personal and environmental safety in accordance with hospital policies.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs, supplies, and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and identify professional growth opportunities.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (for specific location only).
• Minimum two years of acute bedside clinical experience required.
• Experience in LTAC, Stepdown, or PCU highly desired.
