Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and transporting patients into and out of the facility as medically prescribed. Responsibilities include evaluating patients and recommending treatment plans, explaining procedures, and providing education on treatments and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine treatments on various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, and nebulizer devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning of patients using various methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as required.
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies per policy.
• Assist in procedures related to respiratory care.
• Record treatments and patient responses in respiratory care records and patient charts.
• Communicate with attending and pulmonary physicians on therapy efficiency.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and data entry.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation in accordance with BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Ensure proper setup and maintenance of ventilatory equipment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Ohio Respiratory Therapist license is required. Relevant experience in a clinical respiratory care setting is preferred.
