Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Schedule

Night shift, 3x12.0 hours per week. Flexibility to float between NW and East units required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring compliance with the nursing care plan and supervising Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Conduct nursing assessments for all patients within 8 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with patients/families and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Provide timely communication regarding patient status for team conferences.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating) for direct patient care.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Ensure continuity of care by effectively communicating changes in patient status.
• Provide direction, training, and supervision of ancillary nursing personnel.
• Maintain personal and environmental safety according to hospital policies.
• Participate in team building activities to foster a positive work environment.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for professional growth through continuing education.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH only).
• Minimum of two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
