Registered Nurse (RN) - Acute Care Stroke Unit

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night Shift: 3x12 hours (18:45 - 07:15), Weekend coverage required every other weekend.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Acute Care Stroke Unit. This unit specializes in the care of patients experiencing strokes and transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), as well as managing high-acuity medical-surgical patients. The ideal candidate will be highly focused on patient experience and demonstrate clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to stroke and TIA patients and other high-acuity medical-surgical patients.
• Utilize Epic EMR for charting and patient management.
• Perform patient assessments and manage medication administration.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance patient outcomes.
• Conduct special procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation.
• Float to other units as needed while ensuring continuity of care.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active Tennessee RN license.
• Minimum of one year of nursing experience, preferably in an acute-care setting.
• Experience with Epic EMR is required.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications are mandatory.
• Previous charge experience preferred.
