Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift: 3x12.0 hours per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring adherence to the nursing care plan. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and new staff members. A strong emphasis is placed on patient and employee safety, adherence to safety policies, and effective communication within the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, forming the basis of individualized care plans.
• Identify teaching needs and goals related to each patient's diagnosis in collaboration with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team.
• Provide timely patient status updates during team conferences and ensure accurate documentation in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation by utilizing the nursing process, focusing on patient and family education.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status effectively among care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise ancillary nursing personnel, providing training and support for decision-making and effective time management.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in accordance with established policies.
• Contribute positively to unit functioning by creating a supportive work environment.
• Assume charge responsibility as requested following the orientation period.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift.
• ACLS Certification Required Prior to First Shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
