Job Description

The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging on patients utilizing advanced technical equipment and administering contrast materials as necessary. The role includes preparing the scan room, interviewing patients, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients throughout the imaging procedure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare scan room and patients for MRI examinations.
• Administer IV and oral contrast as needed prior to scans.
• Perform warm-up procedures on equipment and enter patient data.
• Review previous exams and screen patients for contraindications before MRI studies.
• Transport patients into exam rooms and assist in appropriate positioning.
• Inject appropriate IV contrast and perform scans attentively.
• Ensure proper patient orientation and image entry order.
• Prepare records for radiologists and ensure all clinical information is complete.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of MRI experience (REQUIRED).
• Siemens experience (REQUIRED).
• Associate degree in a related field (REQUIRED).
• Current MRI certification through ARRT or AMRIT (REQUIRED).
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification (REQUIRED).
• All documentation related to work history and skills checklist current to one year (REQUIRED).
• Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years (REQUIRED).
