Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

32-Hours, 4x8-Hour shifts from 07:30 AM to 04:00 PM.

Job Description

The Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to study the anatomy and hemodynamics of the heart. This includes the execution of two-dimensional (2D) and Doppler modalities while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the examination process.

Responsibilities

• Introduce self and identify patients using two forms of identification.
• Explain testing procedures and review patients' medical histories.
• Perform cardiac diagnostic imaging procedures and online calculations for cardiac parameters.
• Report abnormal findings to Cardiologists and discuss results with them post-examination.
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
• Assist Cardiologists during transesophageal echocardiograms.
• Manage equipment and report any malfunctioning issues to Clinical Engineering.
• Maintain cleanliness and disinfection of all equipment used in examinations.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Formal training from an accredited medical sonography program specializing in cardiac sonography.
• Credentialed by the ARDMS as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) (AE).
• Current certification in BLS.
• At least five years' experience in cardiac sonography.
