Registered Nurse - Emergency Room

Job Description

The Registered Nurse holds shift accountability for providing care to Emergency Room patients by utilizing the Nursing Process in accordance with the state Nurse Practice Act and Hospital policy and procedures. The registered nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for safe delivery of care of the patient in the Emergency Department; maintains clinical competencies through continuing education; delegates patient care priorities commensurate with the education and experience of the staff available; provides direction and supervision of assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to Emergency Room patients following established protocols.
• Utilize critical thinking skills and scientific judgment in patient care.
• Demonstrate leadership and planning for safe delivery of patient care.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and training.
• Delegate patient care priorities appropriately to staff.
• Supervise and guide assigned personnel in delivering patient care.

Schedule

This position is for night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with three 12-hour shifts per week.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Experience with Cerner EMR is required.
• Charge nurse experience is preferred.
• Must be willing to float as needed.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.
