Electrophysiology Nurse

Job Description

This is a 13-week contract position. The Electrophysiology Nurse cares for patients before, during, and after electrophysiology procedures. Responsibilities include caring for Structural heart procedures (including Watchman), lead extractions, ablations, vascular and EP pacemaker/device patients. Key components of the role include pre-procedure assessments, pre-medication, documentation of procedural processes, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, mapping, post-procedure care, and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing care for various procedures, including but not limited to electrophysiology cases.
• Circulate and assist during cases, including setting up procedural supplies and scrubbing in as needed.
• Record all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
• Assist Radiologic Technologists by circulating cases and managing procedural supplies.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Invasive Imaging Experience - 2+ years required
• Electrophysiology Experience - preferred
• Active Michigan Nursing License (LARA and/or Nursys)
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification
• Current American Heart Association ACLS certification

Schedule

Shift: 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM with a 36-hour guarantee. On-call required: 2 weekdays per month and 1 weekend every 8 weeks.
