CVICU Nurse - Night Shift, 13 Weeks

Schedule

Night shift from 18:45 to 07:15 with a target patient ratio of 1:1. Weekend requirement includes every other weekend.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for caring for patients in the Post Open Heart Recovery Unit. This role requires strong clinical skills and experience in CVICU or open heart settings.

Responsibilities

• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Management of ECMO and Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP)
• Care of patients post-cardiac surgery
• Monitoring with pulmonary artery lines/Swan Ganz
• Administration of blood products and central line care
• Management of ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of critical care experience required
• CVIUC experience or open heart experience required
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Familiarity with charting systems, preferably EPIC
