Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

Night shift, three 12-hour shifts per week.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) maintains the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nursing Assistants, and orientees.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission, establishing an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals for each patient based on admission assessments and collaborate with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and ensure direct patient care by employing the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning from the day of admission and teach patients in anticipation of discharge.
• Communicate pertinent information regarding changes in patient status to ensure continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel, utilizing effective problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Promote a positive and safe work environment on the unit by contributing to team-building activities.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs such as supplies and training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested, following an orientation period.
• Pursue professional growth and development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to the first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to the first shift (CIRH ONLY).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience highly desired.
