Medical Surgical Registered Nurse - Oncology

This position requires a night shift with a 12-hour schedule.

Job Description

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse (M/S RN) will provide comprehensive care for patients in an oncology step-down unit, with a focus on patients suffering from heavy sickle cell disease. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality nursing care and support to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Administer chemotherapy as prescribed and monitor patient response.
• Provide patient education and counseling regarding treatment plans and side effects.
• Perform assessments and document care in accordance with established protocols.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Support patients and families emotionally and psychologically during difficult treatment processes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar specialty and setting.
• Chemo certification is preferred.
• Current and valid nursing license verified through Nursys.
• Comprehensive work history with no gaps greater than 60 days.
